Professional Development Courses
Cultural Awareness
This course helps participants explore how individual identity develops as well as individual attitudes toward cultural differences. This awareness session provides an opportunity for participants to get to know people from various backgrounds (e.g. LGBTQ+, gender, race, ethnicity) and work to build skills to bridge cultural divides. Participants should leave with an understanding of varied cultural identities and the importance of multiculturalism.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 101
This course addresses issues related to culture and identity and create awareness of diversity in the workplace. Participants will discuss race and racism, sexism, heterosexism, gender identity, sexuality, and sexual orientation. They will learn DEI language and concepts. Participants will discuss strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges as an organization in regard to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 102
This second workshop in the series will begin with learning about best practices in DEI organizational development and strategize about how to work through an equity and inclusion lens. We will develop DEI goals for each department present to encourage continuous progress.
Having Difficult Conversations
This workshop will focus on methods to have difficult or sensitive conversations with colleagues, leadership, and employees. Using a culturally responsive approach, this workshop will provide tools that participants can use to understand the history and culture of an individual. The workshop will also discuss the ways participants should avoid assumptions about individuals or generalizations about social groups, circumvent speculation or blame, offer criticism, and share information.
Leadership Development
This workshop will help participants recognize their leadership potential through collaboration and communication. Participants will learn a variety of skills necessary to remain or become an effective leader in a diverse workplace and achieve their objectives.
Microaggressions
Microaggressions, or commonplace verbal and behavioral indignities (whether intentional or unintentional) communicate negativity or insult historically oppressed groups. This course highlights the negative impact of these communications and provides strategies for interrupting workplace microaggressions in the moment.
Understanding Gender, Sex, and Sexuality
This workshop uses a culturally relative approach to gender and human sexuality awareness. Participants will learn about prejudice, discrimination, and microaggressions toward people who are LGBTQ+ and increase their awareness of terminology and microaggressions relating to the LGBTQ+ community. This training is guided by the Safe Zone Project curriculum.
Multigenerational Workplace
This workshop will explore the many advantages of age diversity and some of the challenges to ensuring that these generations work well together. A multigenerational workplace offers varied perspectives – a multigenerational workplace that also emphasizes gender and cultural diversity is even more valuable. This workshop will be presented from a sociological perspective that emphasizes how the workplace produces social networks that restrict or expand opportunities and influence how one views themselves and others. This workshop will encourage participants to be intentional in cultivating their network and their team with age diversity in mind.
Understanding Implicit/Unconscious Bias
Based on the latest research, this course details how the brain has internalized our cultural biases. The course will focus on the stereotypes or deep-seated prejudices that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in unconsciously. Implicit and unconscious biases can lead to what we perceive as instinctive assumptions about individuals and groups of people. This skill-based training is effective in raising awareness of the existence of implicit bias. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their individual biases and organizational biases and strategies to report bias incidents.
Understanding Race
This course is an introduction to the social construction, history and meaning of race in the United States. Participants will explore their understandings of race and delve into their personal prejudices as well as have the opportunity to interrogate institutional discrimination.
Social Justice Development
This course explores techniques to foster equitable practices, processes and outcomes for their organization. Participants will learn about social movements related to their area of interest and engage in discussions to create a social justice plan.
Strategies to Undo Institutional Racism
This course will delve into the meaning of institutional racism, its impact specifically on Black and Latino communities, and strategies to systematically combat the effects of institutional racism.

This service allows for the review of client data to create a needs assessment to ascertain the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to DEI practices, policies and procedures.

This service will help clients develop a strategic plan to align with the client’s overall vision and goals.
Leadership Coaching
This service addresses clients’ leadership needs. We will work in consultation to recognize clients’ leadership strengths and weaknesses, helping them to evolve into more well-rounded leaders.
